shine

The shine has worn off. Now, crypto is fun.

I’m not worried about prices, checking the charts, letting red and green candles play out in my day and affect my mood. I don’t spend my time boring my wife and kids with Ripple partnerships, new tokens, or senseless speculation. Sure, I share information. Keep them in the loop. But it’s not like it was a year or two ago. I’m not regurgitating what I’ve learned from YouTubers. I’m not jabbering on about zero-doubt and all-the-money and the like. My family understands that I’m passionate about crypto. They give me my time and my space to read, research, dig, and invest.

We’re not making millions. Not yet. But I suspect we’ll do all right. I’ve chosen my horses for the race and I’ve made sure (as best I can) that they are capable of making it for the long haul. But, truth is, anything can happen. I could be wrong.

But that’s what makes it fun. And if you do the homework, you’ll feel comfortable holding on.

Find projects you’re passionate about because you believe in them. Understand as much as you can about them and what makes them important. What are their chances for success? Are they driven by utility? Or are they popular because of a catchy name, a fancy ad campaign, or a celebrity?

Listen to everyone, but learn to discern between what’s real and what’s bullshit. Trust your gut, but don’t put on blinders. There will be many that succeed in the crypto world. Some will light up quick then disappear. Others will spark and glow, shimmering for a long time—in and out—before they rise to where they belong. Those are the ones that will pay off. Make it all worth it. Like an old friend, a faithful spouse. Those are the ones that make crypto fun.

Take care of each other out there!
